حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، عَنْ زُهَيْرِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ آلَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَفِيهِمُ ابْنُ نَوْفَلٍ: فِي أَيِّ شَيْءٍ كُفِّنَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ فَقَالُوا: «فِي حُلَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ لَيْسَ فِيهَا قَمِيصٌ، وَجُعِلَ فِي لَحْدِهِ سَحْقُ قَطِيفَةٍ كَانَتْ لَهُمْ»
Abu Ishaq (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I asked the family of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), among whom was Ibn Nawfal (may Allah be pleased with him): In what was the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) shrouded? They said: "In a red suit of garments, which did not include a shirt, and a worn-out velvet cloth that belonged to them was placed in his (peace and blessings be upon him) grave-niche."
