It is narrated from Sayyiduna al-Hakam al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him), who was one of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); he said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade making nabidh in the dubba' (gourd), the hantam (green jars), the muzaffat (pitch-coated vessels) and the naqir (vessels hollowed out of a palm trunk)."
