Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 2929 — there was a striped sheet on Hamzah; when

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا سَعْدُ بْنُ الصَّلْتِ، عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا «أَنَّ حَمْزَةَ كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِ نَمِرَةٌ، فَإِذَا غُطِّيَ بِهَا رَأْسُهُ بَدَتْ رِجْلَاهُ، وَإِذَا غُطِّيَتْ رِجْلَاهُ خَرَجَ رَأْسُهُ، فَأَمَرَ بِهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَغُطِّي رَأْسُهُ، وَجُعِلَ عَلَى رِجْلَيْهِ شَجَرَةٌ وَحِجَارَةٌ»

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that there was a striped sheet on Hamzah; when his head was covered with it his feet were exposed, and when his feet were covered his head was exposed. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered that his head be covered and that grass and stones be placed over his feet.
