Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 2798 — from his father that he was travelling

Abdullah bin Nujayy narrates from his father that he was travelling with Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), and when they came opposite Ninawa, he said: Be patient, O Abu Abdullah; be patient at the bank of the Euphrates. I said: What is this about? He said: One day I went in to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while both his eyes were overflowing with tears. I said: O Messenger of Allah, has someone angered you? Why do I see your eyes overflowing? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Jibril (peace be upon him) has just risen and left me, and he told me that my Ummah will kill my son Husayn. Then (Jibril) said: Would you like me to show you some of his soil? I said: Yes. So he stretched out his hand and took a handful (of soil), and when I saw it, I could not stop my eyes from overflowing."
