حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى السَّاجِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْحَرَشِيُّ، ثنا حَاتِمُ بْنُ وَرْدَانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ: ذُكِرَ الطَّاعُونُ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «إِنَّهُ رِجْسٌ أَصَابَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ، فَإِذَا سَمِعْتُمْ بِهِ بِبَلَدٍ فَلَا تَدْخُلُوهَا عَلَيْهِ، وَإِذَا وَقَعَ وَأَنْتُمْ بِبَلَدٍ فَلَا تَخْرُجُوا فِرَارًا مِنْهُ»
Sayyiduna Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The plague was mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is a filth (a punishment) that befell those before you. So when you hear of it in a town, do not enter it; and when it breaks out in a town where you are present, do not leave it fleeing from it."
