It is narrated from Hubayrah bin Yarim that when Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away, Sayyiduna al-Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) stood on the pulpit and said: O people! Tonight a man has been taken from among you whom those before did not surpass, and whom those after will not attain. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would send him on a mission, and Jibril would be on his right and Mika'il on his left; he would not turn back until victory was granted to them. He left nothing except seven hundred dirhams, with which he wanted to buy a servant. And he was taken on the same night in which Sayyiduna Isa bin Maryam (peace be upon him) was raised to the heavens: the night of the twenty-seventh of Ramadan.
