حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي الرَّبِيعِ السَّمَّانُ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ أَبِي الْحُسَامِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ، عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ أَنَّ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا حِينَ وَلَدَتْهُ فَاطِمَةُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهَا أَرَادَتْ أَنْ تَعُقَّ عَنْهُ بِكَبْشٍ عَظِيمٍ، فَأَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: «لَا تَعُقِّي عَنْهُ بِشَيْءٍ، وَلَكِنِ احْلِقِي شَعَرَ رَأْسِهِ، ثُمَّ تَصَدَّقِي بِوَزْنِهِ مِنَ الْوَرِقِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، أَوْ عَلَى الْأَوْفَاضِ» . «ثُمَّ وَلَدَتِ الْحُسَيْنَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ مِنَ الْعَامِ الْمُقْبِلِ، فَصَنَعَتْ بِهِ كَذَلِكَ»
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) that when Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) gave birth to Sayyiduna al-Hasan bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both), she wanted to offer a large ram as aqiqah on his behalf. So she came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not offer anything as aqiqah on his behalf, but shave the hair of his head, then give the equivalent of its weight in silver in charity in the way of Allah, or to the needy." Then the following year she gave birth to Sayyiduna al-Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him), and she did the same for him.
