Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 2501 — he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ الْعَسْقَلَانِيُّ، ثنا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْهَيْصَمِ، ثنا زِيَادُ بْنُ سَيَّارٍ، عَنْ عَزَّةَ بِنْتِ عِيَاضٍ، قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا قِرْصَافَةَ يَقُولُ: قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «هَلْ لَكَ عَقِبٌ؟» قُلْتُ: لِي أَخٌ. قَالَ: «فَجِئْ بِهِ» . فَرَفَقْتُ بِأَخِي وَكَانَ غُلَامًا صَغِيرًا حَتَّى جَاءَ مَعِي، فَلَمَّا دَنَا مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَرَبَ، فَأَخَذْتُهُ فَضَمَمْتُ يَدَيْهِ وَرِجْلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ جِئْتُ بِهِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَبَايَعَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَكَانَ اسْمُهُ مِيسَمًا، فَقَالَ لِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَا اسْمُهُ يَا أَبَا قِرْصَافَةَ؟» قُلْتُ: اسْمُهُ مِيسَمٌ. قَالَ: «بَلِ اسْمُهُ مُسْلِمٌ» . فَقُلْتُ: مُسْلِمٌ مَعَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Qirsafah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "Do you have any offspring?" I said: I have a brother. He said: "Bring him." So I was gentle with my brother, and he was a small boy, until he came with me. When he drew near to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he ran away, so I caught him and held his hands and feet together, then I brought him to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took his pledge of allegiance. His name was Maysam, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "O Abu Qirsafah, what is his name?" I said: His name is Maysam. He said: "Rather, his name is Muslim." I said: Muslim is with you, O Messenger of Allah.
