حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ الْخَطَّابِيُّ الْبَصْريُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ لُوَيْنٌ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ: «دَخَلْتُ مَعَ أَبِي عَلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، فَرَأَيْتُ أَسْمَاءَ قَائِمَةً عَلَى رَأْسِهِ بَيْضَاءَ، وَرَأَيْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَبْيَضَ نَحِيفًا فَحَمَلَنِي وَأَبِي عَلَى فَرَسَيْنِ، ثُمَّ عُرِضْنَا عَلَيْهِ، وَأَجَازَنَا»
Sayyiduna Mu'awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I went with my father to Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him), and I saw Asma standing by his head; she was fair-complexioned. And I found Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) fair and slender. He mounted me and my father on two horses; then we were presented before him, and he gave us a reward.
