Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 24 — I saw Abu Bakr in the expedition of Dhat

حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَلْطِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، ثنا مِسْعَرٌ، عَنْ أَبِي عَوْنٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، مِنْ بَنِي أَسَدٍ قَالَ: «رَأَيْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فِي غَزْوَةِ ذَاتِ السَّلَاسِلِ، وَكَأَنَّ لِحْيَتَهُ لَهَبُ الْعَرْفَجِ، عَلَى نَاقَةٍ لَهُ أَدَمًا أَبْيَضَ خَفِيفًا»
A man from Banu Asad said: I saw Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) in the expedition of Dhat al-Salasil; his beard was red as though it were the flame of arfaj (a thorny shrub), and he was riding a light-coloured, greyish-white she-camel.
