Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 2222 — We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَخْرَمُ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْقِلَّوْرِيُّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ كَثِيرٍ أَبُو غَسَّانَ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، قَالَا: ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ فَشُخِّصَتْ أَبْصَارُنَا فَجَعَلْنَا نَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْقَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ، فَقَالَ: «أَمَا إِنَّكُمْ تَنْظُرُونَ إِلَى رَبِّكُمْ كَمَا تَنْظُرُونَ إِلَى هَذَا لَا تُضَامُونَ فِي رُؤْيَتِهِ، فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ لَا تُغْلَبُوا عَلَى صَلَاتَيْنِ فَافْعَلُوا صَلَاةً قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَصَلَاةً قَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا»
Sayyiduna Jarir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) one night, and our eyes were raised and we began looking at the moon on the night of the full moon, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Listen! You will see your Lord just as you are seeing this; you will have no difficulty in seeing Him. So if you are able, do not let two prayers be missed: a prayer before the rising of the sun and a prayer before its setting."
