Umm al-Hakam bint Abbas (may Allah be pleased with her)
Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 21884 — she went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَا: ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، حَدَّثَنِي عَيَّاشُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنِي الْفَضْلُ بْنُ حَسَنِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أُمِّ الْحَكَمِ، أَنَّ أُمَّهُ أُمَّ الْحَكَمِ حَدَّثَتْهُ: أَنَّهَا ذَهَبَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَسَأَلَتْهُ أَنْ يُخْدِمَهُمْ، وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدِمَ مِنْ سَفَرِهِ وَقَدْ أَصَابَ رَقِيقًا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «سَبَقَكُمْ يَتَامَى أَهْلِ بَدْرٍ»
Sayyidah Umm al-Hakam (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated that she went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked him (peace and blessings be upon him) to give them a servant, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had just returned from his journey and had obtained some slaves. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The orphans of the people of Badr have come before you."
