Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 2187 — I recited (aloud) behind the Prophet ﷺ
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ، ثنا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ خَلَّادٍ الْمِنْقَرِيُّ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عُمَرَ السَّدُوسِيُّ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَدَنِيُّ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ جَهْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ جَهْرٍ قَالَ: قَرَأْتُ خَلْفَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ، قَالَ: «يَا جَهْرُ أسْمِعْ رَبَّكَ وَلَا تُسْمِعْنِي»
Sayyiduna Jahr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I recited (aloud) behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). When he finished the prayer, he said: "O Jahr! Let your Lord hear you, and do not let me hear you."
