حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْخَلَّالُ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْجَوَّازُ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي سُوَيْدٍ الثَّقَفِيِّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ أَبِي الْعَاصِ، يَقُولُ: أَخْبَرَتْنِي أُمِّي، قَالَتْ: «شَهِدْتُ آمِنَةَ لَمَّا وَلَدَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَلَمَّا ضَرَبَهَا الْمَخَاضُ نَظَرْتُ إِلَى النُّجُومِ تَدَلَّى، حَتَّى إِنِّي أَقُولُ لَتَقَعَنَّ عَلَيَّ، فَلَمَّا وَلَدَتْ، خَرَجَ مِنْهَا نُورٌ أَضَاءَ لَهُ الْبَيْتُ الَّذِي نَحْنُ فِيهِ وَالدَّارُ، فَمَا شَيْءٌ أَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ، إِلَّا نُورٌ»
Sayyiduna Uthman bin Abi al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) said that his mother told him; she said: "I was present with Aminah when she gave birth to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When her labour pains began, I saw the stars drawing so close that I began to say: They will fall upon me. Then, when she gave birth, a light came out of her by which the house and the courtyard in which we were became illuminated, and I could see nothing but light."
