Harmalah, the freed slave of Usamah bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them both), related that he was sitting with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) when al-Hajjaj bin Ayman bin Umm Ayman came in and offered a prayer in which he did not complete its bowing or its prostration. When he finished with the salam, Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) called him and said: My nephew! Do you think that you have prayed? You have not prayed; repeat your prayer. When al-Hajjaj had gone, Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) asked me: Who was this? I said: This is al-Hajjaj bin Ayman bin Umm Ayman. He said: If the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) had seen him, he would have loved him. Then he mentioned the love he (peace and blessings be upon him) had for the offspring of Umm Ayman (may Allah be pleased with her), and she had been the nurse of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
