باب من يعرف من النساء بالكنى لمن لم ينته إلينا أسماؤهن ممن لهن صحبة فمنهن أم كلثوم بنت عقبة بن أبي معيط امرأة عبد الرحمن بن عوف
Chapter: Women known by their kunyahs whose names have not reached us, among the female Companions; among them is Umm Kulthum bint Uqbah bin Abi Mu'ayt (may Allah be pleased with her), wife of Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him)

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ أَبُو أُسَامَةَ الْحَلَبِيُّ، ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَبِي مَنِيعٍ الرُّصَافِيُّ، ثنا جَدِّي عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، أَخْبَرَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَنَّ أُمِّهَ وَهِيَ أُمُّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتُ عُقْبَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ: أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «لَيْسَ بِالْكَاذِبِ الَّذِي يُصْلِحُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ، فَيَنْمِي خَيْرًا، أَوْ يَقُولُ خَيْرًا»
Humayd bin Abd al-Rahman (may Allah have mercy on him) related that his mother, Sayyidah Umm Kulthum bint Uqbah (may Allah be pleased with her), told him that she heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "The liar is not the one who makes peace between people, conveying something good or saying something good."
