Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 21575 — We were forbidden from following funeral
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثنا هُشَيْمٌ، ثنا غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ مَنْصُورُ بْنُ زَاذَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، وَهِشَامٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ، قَالَتْ: «نُهِينَا عَنِ اتِّبَاعِ الْجَنَائِزِ، وَلَمْ يُعْزَمْ عَلَيْنَا»
Sayyidah Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: We were forbidden from following funeral processions, but it was not made strictly binding upon us.
