حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ، قَالَتْ: «تُوُفِّيَتْ إِحْدَى بَنَاتِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَأَمَرَنَا أَنْ نُغَسِّلَهَا ثَلَاثًا، أَوْ خَمْسًا، أَوْ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ، إِنْ رَأَيْتُنَّهُ وَأَنْ تَجْعَلَنَ فِي الْغَسْلَةِ الْآخِرَةِ شَيْئًا مِنْ كَافُورٍ وَسِدْرٍ»
Sayyidah Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: One of the daughters of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered us to wash her three times, five times, or more than that if we saw fit, and to add some camphor and lote-tree leaves in the last washing.
