حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُطَيْرٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ الْقَاضِي، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ الْعَسْقَلَانِيُّ، ثنا رَوَّادُ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ الْحَلَبِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ، ثنا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي سَوْدَةَ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي سَوْدَةَ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ، مَوْلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَفْتِنَا فِي بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ، فَقَالَ: «أَرْضُ الْمَنْشَرِ وَالْمَحْشَرِ، ائْتُوهُ فَصَلُّوا فِيهِ، فَإِنَّ صَلَاةً فِيهِ كَأَلْفِ صَلَاةٍ» . قَالَتْ: أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ لَمْ نُطِقْ أَنْ تَتَحَمِّلَ إِلَيْهِ أَوْ نَأْتِيَهُ؟ قَالَ: «فَاهْدِينَ إِلَيْهِ زَيْتًا يُسْرَجُ فِيهِ، فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ أَهْدَى لَهُ كَانَ كَمَنْ صَلَّى فِيهِ»
Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), the freed slave-woman of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), said: I said: "O Messenger of Allah, give us a ruling about Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem)." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is the land of the Resurrection and the Gathering. Go to it and pray in it, for a single prayer there is equal to a thousand prayers." She said: "What do you say if we do not have the means to travel there or reach it?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then send oil there as a gift to be burned in its lamps, for whoever sends oil there as a gift is like one who has prayed there."
