حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الدِّمْيَاطِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي سَوْدَةَ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ وَلَيْسَتْ، بِمَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَفْتِنَا عَنْ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَرْضُ الْمَحْشَرِ وَالْمَنْشَرِ، ائْتُوهُ فَصَلُّوا فِيهِ، فَإِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ فِيهِ كَأَلْفِ صَلَاةٍ، قَالَتْ: أَرَأَيْتَ مَنْ لَمْ يُطِقْ أَنْ يَتَحَمَّلَ أَنْ يَأْتِيَهُ؟ قَالَ: فَإِنْ لَمْ يُطِقْ ذَلِكَ فَلْيُهْدِ إِلَيْهِ زَيْتًا يُسْرَجُ فِيهِ، فَمَنْ أَهْدَى إِلَيْهِ كَانَ كَمَنْ صَلَّى فِيهِ "
Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) (a different woman from Sayyidah Maymunah, the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)) said: I said: "O Messenger of Allah, give us a ruling about Bayt al-Maqdis (Jerusalem)." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is the land of the Gathering and the Resurrection. Go to it and pray in it, for a prayer there is equal to a thousand prayers." She said: "What do you say about someone who does not have the means to go there?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If he cannot do that, let him send oil there to be burned in its lamps. Whoever sends (oil) there is like one who has prayed there."
