حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، ثنا أَبِي، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنِي نُوحُ بْنُ حَكِيمٍ وَكَانَ قَارِئًا لِلْقُرْآنِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ، مِنْ بَنِي عُرْوَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ دَاوُدُ وَلَدَتْهُ أُمُّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ لَيْلَى بِنْتِ قَانِفٍ الثَّقَفِيَّةُ، قَالَتْ: «كُنْتُ فِيمَنِ غَسَّلَ أُمَّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَكَانَ أَوَّلُ مَا أَعْطَانَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْحَقْوَ، ثُمَّ الدِّرْعَ، ثُمَّ الْخِمَارَ، ثُمَّ الْمِلْحَفَةَ، ثُمَّ أُدْرِجَتْ فِي الثَّوْبِ الْأَخِيرِ»
Sayyidah Layla bint Qanif al-Thaqafiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I was among the women who washed Umm Kulthum (may Allah be pleased with her), the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). The first thing the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave us was the waist-wrapper, then the shift, then the head-covering, then the sheet, and then she was wrapped in the last garment.
