حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، أنا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ أُمِّ الْفَضْلِ، قَالَتْ: بَيْنَا أَنَا قَاعِدَةٌ، عِنْدَ رَأْسِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَهُوَ مَرِيضٌ فَبَكَيْتُ، فَقَالَ: «مَا يُبْكِيكِ؟» ، فَقُلْتُ: أَخْشَى عَلَيْكَ فَلَا نَدْرِي مَا نَلْقَى بَعْدَكَ مِنَ النَّاسِ، قَالَ: «أَنْتُمُ الْمُسْتَضْعَفُونَ بَعْدِي»
Sayyidah Umm al-Fadl (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I was sitting at the head of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was ill, and I began to weep. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What makes you weep?" I said: "I am worried about you; we do not know what we will face from the people after you." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "After me you will be the ones regarded as weak (mustad'afun)."
