حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ، عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ، عَنْ فُرَيْعَةَ بِنْتِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ زَوْجَهَا قُتِلَ بِالْقُدُومِ، قَالَتْ: فَأَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَتْ: إِنَّ زَوْجَهَا قُتِلَ بِالْقُدُومِ، وَإِنَّ لَهَا أَهْلًا، فَأَمَرَهَا أَنْ تَنْتَقِلَ، فَلَمَّا أَدْبَرَتْ دَعَاهَا، فَقَالَ: «امْكُثِي فِي بَيْتِكِ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ الْكِتَابُ أَجَلَهُ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا»
The husband of Sayyidah Furay'ah (may Allah be pleased with her) was killed at al-Qadum. She came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said that her husband had been killed at al-Qadum and that she had family, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered her to move; but when she turned to leave, he (peace and blessings be upon him) called her and said: "Remain in your house until the waiting period ('iddah), that is, four months and ten days, is completed."
