Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 21424 — Sayyidah Umm Hani bint Abi Talib told

Sa'id bin Abi Hind (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Sayyidah Umm Hani bint Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with her) told him that Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) came to her in Makkah at the time of the Conquest, and he found with her two men from her husband's family who had fled to her, and he wanted to kill them. When I saw that, I shut my door on them, then I went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was in the upper part of Makkah. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) saw me, he welcomed me and said: "O Umm Hani, what has brought you?" I said: O Messenger of Allah, two men from my husband's family have sought refuge with me, and Ali, having found them with me, declared his intention to kill them; it is about this that I have come to you (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whomever you have granted protection, we too have granted protection, and whomever you have granted safety, we too have granted safety." Then I poured water for him (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the ritual bath (ghusl); his (peace and blessings be upon him) daughter, Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), screened him with a cloth. Then, when he (peace and blessings be upon him) had finished the bath, he took off the cloth and threw it aside, then he stood and prayed eight sajdahs (rak'ahs), and that was at the time of Duha (forenoon).
