Abu Murrah, the freed slave of Aqil (may Allah have mercy on him), relates that Sayyidah Umm Hani bint Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with her) said: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) encamped in the upper part of Makkah, two of my in-laws from Banu Makhzum came to me (she was married to Hubayrah bin Abi Wahb). She said: Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) came to me and said: "I will certainly kill them." So I locked my door on them. Then I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the upper part of Makkah, and I found him (peace and blessings be upon him) taking a bath in a large bowl that had traces of dough in it, while his daughter Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) was screening him with a garment. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) had taken his bath, he took his garment and wrapped himself in it, then prayed eight rak'ahs at the time of Duha (the forenoon). Then he turned towards me and said: "Welcome, O Umm Hani! What has brought you?" So I told him about the two men and about Ali, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We too have granted protection to whomever you granted protection."
