Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 21387 — from Sayyidah Umm Hani bint Abi Talib

Abu Murrah, the freed slave of Aqil (may Allah have mercy on him), narrates from Sayyidah Umm Hani bint Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with her) that when it was the day of the Conquest, two men of Banu Makhzum fled to her, and she granted them protection. She said: Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) came to me and said: "I will certainly kill them." When I heard him say that, I went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who was then in the upper part of Makkah. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) saw me, he welcomed me and said: "O Umm Hani! What has brought you?" I said: "O Prophet of Allah! I had given security to two men from among my in-laws, and Ali intends to kill them." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We too have granted protection to whomever you granted protection." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up for his bath, and Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) screened him. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) took his garment, wrapped himself in it, and prayed the voluntary Duha (forenoon) prayer, eight rak'ahs.
