Abu Murrah, the freed slave of Aqil bin Abi Talib (may Allah have mercy on him), narrates from Sayyidah Umm Hani (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day of the Conquest, but I did not find him, so I waited for him until he came in. Then I said: "My brother came to me" (she meant Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him)), "and he wanted to kill my in-laws, the two sons of Hubayrah. I said: 'I have granted them protection.' He said: 'You have no such right. Do you grant protection to polytheists?'" Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We too have granted protection to whomever you granted protection." Then he said: "O Fatimah! Pour out water for me." So he (peace and blessings be upon him) took a bath, then prayed eight rak'ahs in a single garment, crossing its two ends over each other.
