Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 21370 — I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ، ثنا قَيْسُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ، قَالَتْ: سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ: {وَتَأْتُونَ فِي نَادِيكُمُ الْمُنْكَرَ} [العنكبوت: ٢٩] ، قَالَ: «كَانُوا يَحْذِفُونَ مَنْ مَرَّ بِهِمْ فِي الطَّرِيقِ، وَيَسْخَرُونَ مِنْهُ»
Sayyidah Umm Hani (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about this saying of Allah Almighty: "And you commit evil in your gatherings" [al-Ankabut: 29], and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They used to throw stones at whoever passed by them on the road and mock him."
