حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ النَّوْفَلِيُّ، وَمُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ، وَمُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالُوا: ثنا أَبُو مُصْعَبٍ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، أَحَدُ بَنِي عَبْدِ الدَّارِ بْنِ قُصَيٍّ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي عَتِيقٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ جَعْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدَّتِهِ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " فَضَّلَ اللهُ قُرَيْشًا بِسَبْعِ خِصَالٍ لَمْ يُعْطَهَا أَحَدٌ قَبْلَهُمْ، وَلَا يُعْطَاهَا أَحَدٌ بَعْدَهُمْ: فَضَّلَ اللهُ قُرَيْشًا أَنِّي مِنْهُمْ فَإِنَّ النُّبُوَّةَ فِيهِمْ، وَإِنَّ الْحِجابَةَ فِيهِمْ، وَإِنَّ السِّقَايَةَ فِيهِمْ، ونَصَرَهُمْ عَلَى الْفِيلِ، وعَبَدُوا اللهَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ لَا يَعْبُدُهُ غَيْرُهُمْ، وَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ فِيهِمْ سُورَةً مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ لَمْ تَنْزِلْ فِي أَحَدٍ غَيْرِهِمْ "
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Hani bint Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah has favoured Quraysh with seven qualities which were not given to anyone before them and will not be given to anyone after them: Allah has favoured Quraysh in that I am from among them; prophethood is among them; the custodianship of the Ka'bah (hijabah) is among them; the giving of water to the pilgrims (siqayah) is among them; Allah helped them against the people of the Elephant; they worshipped Allah for ten years when no one other than them worshipped Him; and Allah revealed concerning them a surah of the Qur'an which was not revealed concerning anyone other than them."
