حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْحَلَبِيُّ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي مَسْلَمَةُ بْنُ قَعْنَبٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ جَاءَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَتْ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي أُسْتَحَاضُ فَلَا أَطْهُرُ، أَفَأَدَعُ الصَّلَاةَ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ عِرْقٌ وَلَيْسَتْ بِالْحَيْضَةِ، فَإِذَا أَقْبَلَتِ الْحَيْضَةُ فَدَعِي الصَّلَاةَ، وَإِذَا أَدْبَرَتْ فَاغْسِلِي عَنْكِ الدَّمَ وَصَلِّي»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that Fatimah bint Abi Hubaysh (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! I suffer from istihadah (prolonged bleeding) and do not become pure; shall I then leave the prayer? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That is only a vein, not menstruation. When the menstruation comes, leave the prayer, and when it ends, wash off the blood and pray."
