حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ثنا زَائِدَةُ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: جَاءَتْ فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَتْ: إِنِّي أُسْتَحَاضُ فَلَا أَطْهُرُ، أَفَأَدَعُ الصَّلَاةَ؟ قَالَ: «إِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ عِرْقٌ، وَلَيْسَتْ بِالْحَيْضَةِ، فَإِذَا أَقْبَلَتِ الْحَيْضَةُ فَدَعِي الصَّلَاةَ، وَإِذَا أَدْبَرَتْ فَاغْسِلِي عَنْكِ الدَّمَ وَصَلِّي»
Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said that Fatimah bint Abi Hubaysh (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: I suffer from istihadah (prolonged bleeding) and do not become pure; shall I then leave the prayer? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That is only a vein, not menstruation. When the menstruation comes, leave the prayer, and when it ends, wash off the blood and pray."
