Aishah bint Qudamah bin Maz'un narrates: I was with my mother, Ra'itah bint Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with her), a woman of the tribe of Khuza'ah, while the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was taking the pledge of allegiance from the women, saying: "I take your pledge that you will not associate anything with Allah, will not steal, will not commit adultery, will not kill your children, will not bring forth a slander you have fabricated between your hands and your feet, and will not disobey me in anything good." At this they remained silent, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Say: Yes, as far as we are able." We said: "Yes, as far as we are able." I too would say what they said, and my mother kept saying: "Say yes, say yes."
