حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو حَفْصٍ عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ثنا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْلَى بْنِ كَعْبٍ الطَّائِفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ رَبِّهِ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنِي بِنْتُ رُقَيْقَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّهَا رُقَيْقَةَ، قَالَتْ: لَمَّا جَاءَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَبْتَغِي النَّصْرَ بِالطَّائِفِ دَخَلَ عَلِيَّ فَأَخْرَجْتُ لَهُ شَرَابًا مِنْ سَوِيقٍ فَقَالَ: «يَا رُقَيْقَةُ لَا تَعْبُدِي طَاغِيَتَهُمْ، وَلَا تُصَلِّي لَهَا» ، قَالَتْ: إِذًا يَقْتُلُونِي، قَالَ: «فَإِذَا قَالُوا لَكِ فَقُولِي رَبِّي رَبُّ هَذِهِ الطَّاغِيَةِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتِهَا فَوَلِّها ظَهْرَكِ» ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ عِنْدِي
Sayyidah Ruqayqah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Ta'if seeking support, he came to my house, and I offered him (peace and blessings be upon him) a drink of sawiq (barley gruel). He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Ruqayqah, do not worship their idol, and do not pray to it." I said: "Then they will kill me." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When they tell you to do so, say: My Lord is the Lord of this idol as well; and when you see it, turn your face away from it." Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) left me.
