Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah and Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with them) narrate: Sayyidah Durrah bint Abi Lahab (may Allah be pleased with her) came to Madinah as an emigrant and stayed in the house of Rafi' bin al-Mu'alla al-Zuraqi. Some women of Banu Zurayq who were sitting with her said to her: "Are you the daughter of that Abu Lahab about whom Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says: 'Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! His wealth did not avail him, nor what he earned' [Surah al-Masad: 2]? What benefit will your emigration be to you?" So Durrah (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and complained to him about what those women had said to her. He (peace and blessings be upon him) comforted her and said: "Sit down." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) led the people in the Zuhr prayer and sat on the pulpit for a while, then said: "O people, why am I hurt concerning my family? By Allah, my intercession will reach even (the tribes of) Hayy Ha, Hukm, Suda and Salhab on the Day of Resurrection."
