حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ الْعَمِّيُّ، ثنا مَنْصُورٌ، عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ، عَنِ امْرَأَتِهِ، عَنْ أُخْتِ حُذَيْفَةَ أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ فَقَالَ: «يَا مَعْشَرَ النِّسَاءِ أَمَا لَكُنَّ فِي الْفِضَّةِ مَا تَحَلَّيْنَ، بِهِ مَا مِنْكُنَّ مِنِ امْرَأَةٍ تَلْبَسُ ذَهَبًا تُظْهِرُهُ إِلَّا عُذِّبَتْ بِهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Khawlah bint al-Yaman al-Absiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her), the sister of Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him), that she heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering a sermon, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O women, is silver not sufficient for you to adorn yourselves with? There is no woman among you who wears gold and displays it but she will be punished for it."
