حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ السَّدُوسِيُّ، ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ، قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيُّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ سَنُوطَا، قَالَ: دَخَلْنَا عَلَى خَوْلَةَ بِنْتِ قَيْسٍ وَهِيَ امْرَأَةُ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ الْعَجْلَانِ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَهِيَ الَّتِي كَانَتْ عِنْدَ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ فَقُلْنَا لَهَا: حَدِّثِينَا يَا أُمَّ مُحَمَّدٍ فَقَالَ لَهَا زَوْجُهَا: انْظُرِي يَا أُمَّ مُحَمَّدٍ مَا تُحَدِّثِينَ فَإِنَّ الْحَدِيثَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: بِغَيْرِ ثَبَتٍ شَدِيدٌ فَقَالَتْ: بِئْسَ مَا لِي أَنْ أُحَدِّثَهُمْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا يَنْفَعُهُمْ، وأَكْذِبُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: «الدُّنْيَا خَضِرَةٌ حُلْوَةٌ فَمَنْ يَأْخُذُ مَالًا بِحُلَّةٍ يُبَارَكُ لَهُ فِيهِ، وَرُبَّ مُتَخَوِّضٍ فِي مَالِ اللهِ، وَمَالِ رَسُولِهِ فِيمَا شَاءَتْ نَفْسُهُ، وَلَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ النَّارُ»
Ubayd Sanuta said: We went to Sayyidah Khawlah bint Qays (may Allah be pleased with her). At that time she was the wife of al-Nu'man bin al-Ajlan, and she is the woman who had (earlier) been married to Sayyiduna Hamzah bin Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him). We said to her: "O Umm Muhammad, narrate a hadith to us." Her husband said to her: "O Umm Muhammad, be careful what you narrate, for narrating a hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) without certainty is a grave matter." She said: "It would be an evil thing for me to narrate to them from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) something that benefits them and yet lie against the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'The world is green and sweet. Whoever acquires wealth lawfully, it is blessed for him; and how many people there are who help themselves to the wealth of Allah and His Messenger as they please; for them is the Fire on the Day of Resurrection.'"
