حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ حَمَّادٍ الْبَرْبَرِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي طَاهِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شَهْرُ بْنُ حَوْشَبٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَتْنِي أَسْمَاءُ بِنْتُ يَزِيدَ، «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تُوُفِّيَ وَدِرْعُهُ الَّتِي يُقَاتِلُ فِيهَا مَرْهُونَةٌ بِوَسْقٍ مِنْ شَعِيرٍ عِنْدَ رَجُلٍ يَهُودِيٍّ أَخَذَهُ طَعَامًا لِأَهْلِهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma bint Yazid (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away while his coat of mail in which he fought was held in pledge with a Jewish man for one wasq of barley, which he (peace and blessings be upon him) had taken as food for his family.
