حَدَّثَنَا مَسْعَدَةُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْعَطَّارُ الْمَكِّيُّ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى التَّيْمِيُّ، ثنا أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ خُبَيْبٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ أُسَامَةَ الْجُهَنِيِّ، قَالَ: ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى السُّوقِ فَلَقِيتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ سَأَلْتُهُمْ أَيْنَ يُرِيدُ؟ فَقَالُوا: يَخُطُّ لِقَوْمِكَ مَسْجِدًا فَرَجَعْتُ فَوَجَدْتُ قَوْمِي قِيَامًا فَقُلْتُ: مَا بَالُكُمْ؟ فَقَالُوا: «خَطَّ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَسْجِدًا بِرِجْلِهِ، وَأَقَامَ فِي الْقِبْلَةِ خَشَبَةً غَرَزَهَا فِيهِ»
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Usamah al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I went to the market and found the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with his Companions. I asked them: Where is he (peace and blessings be upon him) going? They said: He (peace and blessings be upon him) is going to mark out a mosque for your people. So I went back and found my people standing, and I asked: What is the matter with you? They said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) marked out a mosque for us with his foot and planted a piece of wood in the direction of the qiblah.
