Yahya bin Ayyub and Amr bin Abi al-Tahir (may Allah have mercy on them) narrate with their chain that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed the eclipse (solar/lunar) prayer. He (peace and blessings be upon him) stood and lengthened the standing, then bowed and lengthened the bowing, then raised his head and prostrated and lengthened the prostration, then raised his head and prostrated and lengthened the prostration. Then, having finished the prayer, he said: "Paradise was brought near to me, so that had I dared to reach for it, I would have brought you a cluster of its fruits. And the Fire was brought near to me, so that I said: 'O my Lord! Am I too with them (in it)?' And behold, there was a beautiful woman being clawed by a cat. I asked: 'What is her case?' They said: 'She kept it confined until it died of hunger; she neither fed it nor let it go so that it could eat (by itself).'" Nafi' said: I think he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "from the grass and herbage of the earth."
