حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَمَّادِ بْنِ زُغْبَةَ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَتْ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ " يُصَلِّي نَحْوَ الرُّكْنِ بَعْدَ أَنْ أُمِرَ يَصْدَعُ بِمَا أُمِرَ وَهُوَ يَقْرَأُ: {فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ} [الرحمن: ١٣] " وَالْمُشْرِكُونَ يَسْمَعُونَ
Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), after he had been commanded to proclaim openly what he was commanded, praying facing the Corner (of the Ka'bah) and reciting: "Then which of the favours of your Lord will you both deny?" [Surah al-Rahman: 13], while the polytheists were listening.
