حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَمَّادِ بْنِ زُغْبَةَ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ «تُخْرِجُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ أَهْلِهَا الْحُرِّ مِنْهُمْ، وَالْمَمْلُوكِ مُدَّيْنِ مِنْ حِنْطَةٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ بِالْمُدِّ الَّذِي يَقْتَاتُونَ بِهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) that in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) she used to give, on behalf of her household, both the free and the slaves, two mudds of wheat or one sa' of dates, by the mudd with which they measured their food.
