حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، أَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، أَنَّ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، قَالَتْ: قَدِمَتْ عَلَيَّ أُمِّي وَهِيَ رَاغِبَةٌ مُشْرِكَةٌ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ أُمِّي قَدِمَتْ وَهِيَ رَاغِبَةٌ مُشْرِكَةٌ أَفَأَصِلُهَا؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «صِلِيهَا»
Sayyidah Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated: My mother came to me; she was hopeful (of my kindness) and a polytheist. I said: O Messenger of Allah! My mother has come, and she is hopeful and a polytheist; shall I maintain ties with her? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Maintain ties with her."
