حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْخَلَّالُ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ كُرَيْبٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ، أَنَّهُمْ تَمَارَوْا فِي صِيَامِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ، فَقَالَتْ مَيْمُونَةُ: سَأَبْعَثُ لَكُمْ إِلَيْهِ بِتَمَرَاتٍ إِنْ كَانَ مُفْطِرًا لَمْ يَدَعْهُ «فَبَعَثَتْ إِلَيْهِ بِقَدَحِ لَبَنٍ فَشَرِبَهُ وَالنَّاسُ يَنْظُرُونَ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the people were in doubt about whether the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was fasting on the day of Arafah. Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I will send some dates to him (peace and blessings be upon him) for you; if he is not fasting, he will not leave them. Then she sent him (peace and blessings be upon him) a cup of milk, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) drank it while the people were watching.
