حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ، قَالَتْ: مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِشَاةٍ لِمَوْلَاةٍ لِمَيْمُونَةَ قَدْ أُعْطِيَتْهَا مِنَ الصَّدَقَةِ مَيْتَةٍ، فَقَالَ: «أَلَا أَخَذُوا إِهَابَهَا فَدَبَغُوهُ فَانْتَفَعُوا بِهِ؟» فَقَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّهَا مَيْتَةٌ، فَقَالَ: «إِنَّمَا حُرِّمَ أَكْلُهَا»
Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by the dead sheep of a slave-woman of Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), which had been given to her as charity. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why did they not take its skin, tan it and benefit from it?" They said: O Messenger of Allah! It is carrion. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Only eating it is forbidden."
