Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 2039 — I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ perform

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْحُلْوَانِيُّ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حُصَيْنٍ الْقَاضِي، ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي الصَّلَوَاتِ كَنَحْوٍ مِنْ صَلَاتِكُمْ، كَانَ «يُصَلِّي الظُّهْرَ حِينَ تَزُولُ الشَّمْسُ وَكَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ بِـ ق وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ، وَيس وَنَحْوِ ذَلِكَ»
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) perform the prayers roughly the way you perform them. He (peace and blessings be upon him) would pray Zuhr as soon as the sun passed its zenith, and in the Fajr prayer he would recite Surah 'Qaf, wal-Qur'an al-majid' and Surah 'Ya Sin' and surahs like them.
