حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ جُرَيِّ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ: لَمَّا كَانَ بَيْنَ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ الَّذِي كَانَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، انْطَلَقْتُ حَتَّى أَتَيْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ، فَأَتَيْتُ مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ وَهِيَ مِنْ بَنِي هِلَالٍ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهَا، فَقَالَتُ: «مِمَّنِ الرَّجُلُ؟» قُلْتُ: مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِرَاقِ، قَالَتْ: «مِنْ أَيِّ أَهْلِ الْعِرَاقِ؟» قُلْتُ: مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكُوفَةِ، قَالَتْ: «مِنْ أَيِّ أَهْلِ الْكُوفَةِ؟» قُلْتُ: مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرٍ، فَقَالَتْ: «مَرْحًا قُرْبًا عَلَى قُرْبِ، وَرُحْبًا عَلَى رُحْبٍ فَمَجِيءُ، مَا جَاءَ بِكَ؟» قُلْتُ: كَانَ بَيْنَ عَلِيٍّ، وَطَلْحَةَ، وَالزُّبَيْرِ الَّذِي كَانَ فَأَقْبَلْتُ فَبَايَعْتُ عَلِيًّا، قَالَتْ: «فَالْحَقْ بِهِ فَوَاللهِ مَا ضَلَّ وَلَا ضُلَّ بِهِ» حَتَّى قَالَتْهَا ثَلَاثًا
Jurayy bin Samurah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: When what happened between the people of Basrah and Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) had taken place, I set out until I reached Madinah. I came to Sayyidah Maymunah bint al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with her), who was from Banu Hilal, and greeted her with salam. She asked: "Where is this man from?" I said: From Iraq. She asked: "From which people of Iraq?" I said: From the people of Kufah. She asked: "From which people of Kufah?" I said: From Banu Amir. She said: "Welcome! Closeness upon closeness, and spaciousness upon spaciousness. What has brought you?" I said: After what happened between Ali, Talhah and al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them), I came forward and pledged allegiance to Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). She said: "Then stay with him. By Allah, he has not gone astray, nor has he been led astray." She repeated this three times.
