It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that a woman of the tribe of Aslam named Subay'ah was married to her husband, and then her husband died while she was pregnant. Abu al-Sanabil bin Ba'kak proposed marriage to her, but she refused to marry him. He said: It is not permissible for you to marry until you complete the later of the two terms. She stayed for twenty nights, then she gave birth (and her postnatal bleeding began). She came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Marry."
Sayyidah Fatimah bint Qays (may Allah be pleased with her) used to narrate from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that when she was divorced irrevocably, he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered her to move to the house of Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him), because he was blind, and she could take off her outer garments in his presence before her waiting period ended. And Muhammad bin Usamah bin Zayd used to relate that whenever she mentioned anything of this, Usamah would throw at her whatever was in his hand.
