Mu'jam Kabir Tabarani 20193 — she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَحْيَى الرَّازِيُّ، ثنا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، ثنا أَبُو النَّضْرِ، ثنا سَالِمُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ، ثنا جَامِعُ بْنُ أَبِي رَاشِدٍ وَدُمُوعُهُ يَتَحَدَّرُ، عَنْ أُمِّ مُبَشِّرٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ: «إِذَا ظَهَرَ الشَّرُّ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَنْزَلَ اللهُ بَأْسَهُ بِأَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ» ، قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَإِنْ كَانَ فِيهِمْ قَوْمٌ صَالِحُونَ؟، قَالَ: «نَعَمْ، وَإِنْ كَانَ فِيهِمْ قَوْمٌ صَالِحُونَ يُصِيبُهُمْ مَا أَصَابَ النَّاسَ، ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُونَ إِلَى رَحْمَةِ اللهِ وَمَغْفِرَتِهِ»
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that she heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "When evil becomes widespread on the earth, Allah Almighty sends down His punishment upon the people of the earth." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, even if there are righteous people among them?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, even if there are righteous people among them; the same affliction that strikes the rest of the people will strike them, then they will return to the mercy and forgiveness of Allah."
