حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ثنا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ مُكْرَمٍ، ثنا طَلْحَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، عَنْ أُمِّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَمْعَةَ، أَنَّ جَدَّتَهَا أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَفَعَتْ إِلَيْهَا مِخْضَبًا مِنْ صُفْرٍ، قَالَتْ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَغْتَسِلُ فِيهِ» . قَالَ طَلْحَةُ: وَكَانَ نَحْوًا مِنْ صَاعٍ أَوْ أَقَلَّ "
Umm Kulthum bint Abdullah bin Zam'ah (may Allah have mercy on her) relates that her grandmother, Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), gave her a brass basin and said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to take the ritual bath (ghusl) in this." The narrator Talhah said: It held about one sa' or a little less.
