It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her); she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to supplicate with this du'a: "O Allah, You are the First, there is nothing before You, and You are the Last, there is nothing after You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of every creature that moves, whose forelock is in Your hand. I seek refuge in You from sin and laziness, from the punishment of the Fire, the punishment of the grave, the trial of wealth and the trial of poverty. And I seek refuge in You from sin and debt. O Allah, cleanse my heart of sin as a white garment is cleansed of dirt, and put as much distance between me and my faults as You have put between the East and the West."
